Next events:

Europe Matters - Informal meetings to discuss European topics continue on the 3rd Saturday of every month starting at 11.15 am, at The Cricketers upstairs room. The pub is the oldest in Brighton - drinks and bar lunches are available on the spot.

During the summer Sussex Branch will be holding two social and fund-raising events. A garden party and strawberry tea will be held on Saturday 13 June at Rosebank, Jarvis Lane, Steyning. Car parking is usually best in the Steyning Centre car park, off Church Lane. On 6 August members are welcome to join in Tea and Croquet on the lawns of Deans Place Hotel, Alfriston.

The Sussex branch Annual Seminar will this year be held at Wiston House, the home of the Wilton Park Conference centre, on Sunday 3 October. The overall theme will focus on Lisbon - Expectations and Realities, how the European Union is changing.

The AGM will be held on Saturday 13 November, at the Cornerstone Community Centre, near the intersection of First Avenue and Church Road, Hove. The plan is that it will take place around an informal lunch with members’ contributions. Alongside the usual formal business, the agenda will include a review of this year’s François Duchêne Bursary awards.

Last event:

Sussex Branch's last event was a lunch on 24 April 2010 during which Catherine Bearder MEP talked about her first impressions of starting as a Member of the European Parliament, describing how she hoped to bring influence on her own policy priorities and how new MEPs were allocated to working committees.
